Bay laurel is native to the Aegean region  the evergreen tree growing to 20 meters high with dark green, glossy leaves and black berries is often cultivated as an ornamental shrub. It is little used internally these day, due to its narcotic properties.Daphne soap is made of oil extracted from the berries of laurel and olive trees that grow in the hills and the valleys around Antioch, Turkey, on the coast of Mediterranean and Agean. Since this soap is based on ancient formula that has been passed through centuries, from one generation to next, and remains unchanged to this day. Daphne soap is gentle enough for the face, yet shampoo for the hair. When used on face, it moisturizes and stimulates dry skin and may treat scars, acne pimples, boils itching and scabies. When used on hair, It nourishes hair giving its softness, shine and strength. It also prevents dandruff. It is handmade, hand-cut and hand-packaged.
